Telstra Executive Loses Top Secret Microsoft Phone

A phone loaded with future Microsoft technology that was being tested by Telstra chief executive Sol Trujillo has been stolen

Microsoft Headquarters: Microsoft

A phone with an upcoming version of Windows Mobile has been stolen from a Telstra executive while they were at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, reports News Ltd. The phone was an HTC product loaded with Windows Mobile 6.5, the new mobile operating system from Microsoft that has hardly been seen by anyone outside of the Redmond, Washington, company.

Microsoft released a brief statement but seemed unconcerned with the development. "Although we regret that the prototype given to Telstra was misplaced, we don't envisage the loss of one Windows Mobile 6.5 phone in Barcelona as impacting Microsoft in any way," a spokesman told The Sydney Morning Herald.

Kind of suggests that Sol should have his bonus paid in $Zim doesn't it? In fact, pay all the dead wood at the top of Telstra in $Zimbabwe! There's no productivity bonus to speak of, and the only savings they seem to have been able to make is to cut jobs while protecting their obscene salaries and perks. And as for losing bleeding-edge technology, seems like Sol and his mates on their junket must be a real worry to their mothers.
