Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. While the holiday is a source of contention for many, it’s better than Christmas for others. It all depends on what’s going on in your love life on February 14th during any given year. Experts have all kinds of relationship advice to help you find eternal bliss with that special someone. But this Valentine’s Day, let’s take a look at relationship compatibility according to …… birth order. Bring it, baby.

Plenty of research studies are available stating that your personality is shaped by the order in which you were born into your family. Now, this is all very general (and doesn’t take adoptions, step children and other factors that can change the birth order into account), but it does offer a basic rule of thumb that could probably describe a good portion of the population:

First Borns: Energetic, Logical, Ambitious, Enterprising, Scholarly. Famous first born children: Walter Conkrite, Dan Rather, Oprah Winfrey, Rush Limbaugh and Arsenio Hall.

Middle Children: Flexible, Diplomatic, Rebellious, Attention-seeking, Competitive, Peacemakers. Famous middle born children: Donald Trump, Ted Kennedy, Tim Allen, Julia Roberts, and Rosie O'Donnell.

Last Born Children: Risk takers, Idealists, Good sense of humor, Immature, Attention-seeking, Secretive, Sensitive. Famous last born children: Howard Stern, Jay Leno, Ralph Nadar, Bill Gates, and Danny DeVito.

Only Children: Mature faster, Get along well with older people, Responsible, Self-Centered, Perfectionists, Attention-seekers and Have difficulty sharing. Only children tend to be a special breed in that they can share the common personality traits of any of the above 3 main birth orders. However, they are generally more aligned with the traits of the first born. Famous only children include: Nancy Reagan, Chelsea Clinton, Carol Burnett, and Ted Koppel.

Feels almost like you’re reading astrological star signs, right? Well, just as certain star signs are more compatible than others, birth order categorization puts a new twist on an old question: “Is he/she the one for me?”

Sounds very strange, but makes a bit of sense I guess. Although in relationships there will be several more complicated factors aside from birth order which will affect how compatible the two people are.

As for me, I'm still sticking with trial and error and hoping for the best. Its more interesting that way!
