PopSci #46 - September 2012
New Issue //

The September edition will hit shops on the 29th of August. And it's all about cars. Find out more after the jump!

Our September 2012 edition focuses on the future of the car! Specifically, your car. Specifically, cars you can buy today that are jam-packed with gadgets, gew-gaws and other mod cons. Drive the future now! We rate 10 cars not on kilowatts or newton-metres, but on their high-tech cred. The top scorer may surprise you...

What you're looking at on the cover there is what could become the world's first solar-powered coupe you could actually buy. Designed by an Aussie team (with help from students at Swinburne university) the Aurora Solaris will first compete in the 2013 World Solar Challenge and then who knows... may make its way to a showroom near you.

We also examine five technologies that will change the way you drive, go in-depth with the story of the DeltaWing, the world's most efficient race car, and just to switch things up a bit, show you how one Aussie built himself a Tesla coil.

Plus eight science projects that could destroy your house. Because well, why not?
