Hot on the tail of yesterday’s rumour about the leaked details of the fourth generation iPhone comes some further iPhone rumour mongering.
The word is spreading fast that AppleInsider has got the skinny on what can be expected from the much talked about iPhone OS 4.0 multitasking functionality. So the story goes, Apple originally avoided the ability for iPhones to run multiple Apps to help simplify the user experience and, more importantly, preserve battery life. This approach is set to change with the release of iPhone OS 4.0 which, “…will deliver new support for running multiple concurrent third party apps, and allow users to switch between them using a windows management mechanism similar to one made popular on the company’s Mac OS X operating system.”
If the rumours prove to be true then iPhone OS 4.0 is set to address one of the main griping points that many an iPhone user has been limited by.
