United We (Fail to) Fly

And you thought United Airlines service couldn?t get any worse? (not that we have anything against United)

Seriously, we have nothing against United Airlines, one of America?s major carriers. After all, on my last United flight, UA870 from Sydney to San Francisco, they made a rather pleasant stop off in Honolulu after calmly telling us that our 747-400 didn?t quite have enough fuel to make it all the way to Frisco.

The Today in the Sky blog, a PopSci.com.au favourite, manned by Ben Mutzabaugh of USA Today is reporting that a United Airlines flight from Sao Paolo, Brazil to Chicago, USA, made an unscheduled stop in Miami after one of its captains and a senior flight attendant had a disagreement. According to the report the captain believed the senior flight attendant wasn?t respecting his authority so thought it best to land in Miami and deplane the flight attendant.

We?re sure the rest of the passengers on that Boeing 767 were thrilled with that call?
