No, Oprah is not turning into Jerry Springer, rather, she?s helping Virgin America celebrate the launch of in-flight internet access
Virgin America is a domestic carrier within, you guessed it, the United States (give yourself a pat on the back). A Skype chat between a Virgin America flight attendant and Oprah using the in-flight Internet service will be broadcast today on the Oprah show (that?s in the USA though). The event took place on flight VX780 from the beautiful city of Seattle heading to the not so beautiful, but still plenty of fun, city of Los Angeles.
The service will cost between US$7.95 and US$12.95 per flight depending on the device you are using and the length of time of the flight. Quite reasonable really. No news yet of a rollout on other Virgin airlines. Don?t hold your breathe though, Virgin America is only 25 per cent owned by Virgin Group and is under no obligation to work with any of the other Virgin Airlines.
