Hundreds of food products, ranging from flash frozen vegetables to jars of sunflower seed kernels, are being recalled this week due to possible Listeria contamination. The contamination apparently happened at a food packaging center in Washington state, and has been tied to the hospitalization of eight people so far.

A bacterial infection, Listeria can cause all sorts of flu-like symptoms, as well as dizziness and muscle aches. It is especially problematic for pregnant women, children, and the elderly. In some cases it can be fatal.

Major brands affected by the recall include Safeway and Kroger, as well as Planter's.

See the FDA list for the full list of products affected, and learn more about the sunflower seed recall here.
