You may want to get an iPad sooner rather than later

While most early adopters will know full well that their uncontrollable urges to get their hands on the latest gear ASAP isn’t rewarded by savings afforded to those who wait for newer technology to drop in price, they are at least ensured the product. The problem, it seems, for shrewder folk awaiting the first price drop of any new gadget is the potentiality that they may have to wait longer than anticipated to call a particular gadget their own.

So for those of you favouring paying less over actually owning an iPad ASAP, you may want to reconsider if you want to call one of Apple’s newfangled gizmos your own sooner rather than later. Reuters is reporting (by way of Engadget) that LG, a major screen supplier for the iPad, is having troubles keeping up with the iPad demand. So much so in fact that LG has told reporters that they have suggested that Apple slow down their intended international expansion.

While this slowing of international expansion doesn’t apply to Australia, as we already have the iPad, it does include the possibility that the current demand could limit renewed stock; particularly if Apple ignores LG’s advice and rolls out the iPad in other countries that have yet to receive the device. LG has predicted that even if they stepped up their screen production capacity, supplies for the iPad would still remain tight up until and including early 2011.
