iPhone 4: the wait is over

For those out there that simply cannot wait to get their hands on the latest version of Apple’s iPhone and have been champing at the bit to get any indication of when it will be released, the good news is the end is nigh. According to a recent Apple press release published in full at Gizmodo, the iPhone 4 will be available for purchase from Friday the 30th of July: yes, that’s this Friday.

The iPhone 4 features an all-new thin design, video calling capabilities and a high-resolution display. Australia and New Zealand aren’t the only countries to be receiving iPhone 4 shipments this coming Friday either, with Canada, Spain and Hong Kong a few of the others involved in the disbursement to a total of 17 new nations.

For those worried about the ‘death grip’ issue that has somewhat dinted the iPhone 4 image of late, the new model iPhone is said to be distributed with an included case that reportedly nullifies the antenna problem. There’s no word on pricing at this stage, but taking into account the suggested price of $199USD for the 16GB model and $299USD for the 32GB model, along with past pricing conversions, we can expect this number to float somewhere around the $900 (16GB model) $1,000RRP (32GB model) mark.
