The first 3G offering from BlackBerry Pearl is set to hit shelves in Australia later this month, with Telstra snapping up exclusive provider rights for the first three months.
Telstra spokesperson Ross Fielding says in a press release the new smartphone combines the best of the BlackBerry experience with social networking features and a snappy, compact handset.
“Its eye-catching design and smart 20-key QWERTY keyboard with SureType software will win fans among people who like to keep in touch via email, text message, through Facebook or via Twitter throughout the day,” Mr Fielding says.
Weighing only 93 grams and optimised for one-handed typing, the smartphone will be available in black or purple. It also features built-in GPS, 3.2 megapixel camera, media player and Wi-Fi.
Pricing for the new model and a specific on-sale date are yet to be announced. Click here to find out more.
