The Future of Airline Economy Class

Thompson Solutions has come up with an all-new economy class design that could give you more space and will allow airlines to increase their passenger load

Is there anything worse than a long distance flight in economy class? Well, there are several things worse really, but luckily enough most of us don?t have to experience them regularly. With the economy the way it is, and more budget airlines doing long-distance flights, chances are your next international flight will likely be in economy class.

Luckily for you though, Thompson Solutions has come up with a new economy seat that will not only allow airlines to get more people on board, but will increase each individuals personal space and comfort as well. It?s called the Cozy Suite.

The British company?s trick is to stagger the seating, remove the ability recline backwards, but provide a side head rest for more comfortable sleep. You will still be able to recline in your seat, but the fixed cocoon means that when you recline, your seat slides forward and down rather than back into the face of other passengers.

Some airlines have already put in place this new reclining technique used by the Cozy Suite, namely JAL and Cathay Pacific. So far Delta Airlines will be the first to roll out the Cozy Suite in their Boeing 757ER and 777 planes. The Boeing 777-200 will be the plane that Delta uses to fly the Sydney-LA-Atlanta route.
