Dude Teaches His Girl How to Drive on In-Use Airport Runway

One of the Philippines? top aviation officials has been suspended after his son got in the way of commercial planes while teaching his girlfriend how to drive on a runway. News Limited (http://www.news.com.au/travel/story/0,28318,25204269-5014090,00.html) has reported the story saying that the official?s son was using a van to give lessons to his girlfriend while the airport’s runway was in use.

The incident took place at Legaspi airport near Manilla. A Cebu Pacific Airlines flight carrying 80 passengers had to about its landing when the van got in the way. The pilot reported the incident to police who later took action against the boy?s father. The boy admitted to using the airport as a shortcut as well as teaching his girlfriend how to drive on the runway.

Luckily for all involved, it didn’t end up like the picture above, although the story is just as odd.
