Telstra's T-Box
First it was Foxtel, then it was TiVo, followed by Sony’s PlayTV accessory for PlayStation 3. But now, the unlikely new contender in in the PVR market is Telstra and its digital set-top box dubbed the ‘T-Box’. It is currently being trialled in Melbourne.
"The T-box is expected to include a 200GB hard drive and a built-in electronic program guide. Telstra has remained tight-lipped on pricing and a release date – some time next year – but since Telstra already owns half of Foxtel, it will be interesting to find out more about how it is connected and what kind of content it offers. If any video-on-demand service is offered, it’s a good chance Telstra would make such downloads exempt from the data caps of its Bigpond subscribers.JOIN THE POPSCI AU FACEBOOK GROUP
