The Olympics aren't the only thing going on in Rio right now -- Nissan's BladeGlider is also making an appearance in the Brazilian city. Nissan brought a pair of working prototypes, based on the static concepts shown at the 2013 Tokyo Auto Show, to the Museu do Amanha (Museum of Tomorrow) as evidence of its commitment to the future of zero-emissions vehicles.

Building cars in Mexico is nothing new; Volkswagen, Nissan, and Toyota all have plants south of the border. But building sports cars in Mexico is less common, and right now the Vuhl 05 has that stage pretty much all to itself. (To put a fine point on it, the car was designed and assembled in Mexico, with the body being manufactured in Canada and about 40% of its parts coming from the United Kingdom.)

We all know that one of the biggest obstacles to electric car adoption is the long, often overnight recharge time. But Nissan claims that they've created a new charging system that'll fill up your car (Nissan would undoubtedly prefer to say "your Leaf") in only ten minutes--not much different than a regular trip to the Earth-killing pump.
