Aside from being an even-clearer sign that someone is playing Pokémon Go, the wristband will be a bluetooth notification system that alerts players when they're near pokémon or pokéstops without having to take their phone out to check.

The peripheral would have been a much-needed infusion of new action for the game, which has plateaued since its incredible rise just a couple of weeks ago.
