Issue #57 - August 2013

Have a heart  - no really, have one. We grew it for you special. Actually, we didn't grow it, we cultured your stem cells and then we printed it out on a 3D printer. Okay, so the actual process of bioprinting isn't quite THAT advanced yet, but the revolution is under way...

Our August issue is all about biology! Printing new tissues ranks up top, followed by an exclusive Australian report on a new kind of heart repair patch that harnesses the body's own stem cells to fix damage.

Then we jump out of the hospital and into our cars for a report in the amazing new tech making its way into your next reasonably-priced car. Top tip: your smartphone will have an increasingly important role to play.

Elsewhere in the issue we buy our own spy rover, recycle our headphones, listen to some soundbars that aren't terrible, build a centrifuge out of a Dremel, and go on an amazing selection of geek-tastic guided tours!

All this, plus gadgets, tech new and more, inside one easy-to-digest magazine!

Out 31 July 2020!
