Facebook has the same number of users now as there were people alive just a century ago, which is a pretty impressive number of users for a dorm-room project after just a decade. And if you're the guy who did the project, you'd probably want to tout that.

Adobe is partnering with Nvidia to take screen-based visual arts to the next level. Project Wetbrush is a proposed paint simulator that will mimic the texture, viscosity, and "bristle-level" interactions that you'd get from real paint on a real canvas.

A new demo spotted by Mashable offers a glimpse of US-based startup Magic Leap's augmented reality technology at work. In the video, which CMO Brian Wallace released at a conference in China, a user appears to measure a space and shop for baby-friendly lamps to fill it. You can see one of the lamps appear in 3D in the user's room, and even accommodate shifts in perspective as she approaches.
