EHang Holdings Limited of China announced a partnership with Lung Biotechnology in the U.S. to put 1,000 drones to work as organ delivery vehicles.

EHang's 184, which was revealed earlier this year, is the first autonomous aerial passenger drone. That model will essentially be retrofitted from a passenger vehicle to specifically carry organs.

The partnership is signed on for 15 years, and the companies will base the drones in key locations to make organ delivery more efficient.
