The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time is lauded as one of the most important titles in video game history. Originally released for then high-tech game console Nintendo 64 in 1998, one of its most famous levels has now been remade in ultra-HD using Unreal Engine 4, the new graphics rendering software engine that has lately inspired numerous incredibly lifelike simulations and tributes to other older, similarly beloved, less graphically-advanced games.

The Legend Of Zelda coded in Unreal 4 brings clarity to the classic water stage Zora's Domain. Created by Michael Eurek, and posted on Vimeo, the footage gives us a virtual tour of the many levels of the Zora world. Though unfortunately Link, Zelda and the other popular Hyrule characters are nowhere to be found — at least not yet. Still, the lovingly recreated level is gorgeous to behold. Check out the video below:

Unreal is the graphics software behind hit games like Assassin's Creed, Batman Arkham City, and Mass Effect, and Unreal Engine 4 is the latest and most high-powered version yet. While Nintendo games are rarely known for their graphical prowess, videos like Eurek's show the benefits of pushing every last pixel to its limit.

This isn't the first time we've seen the Unreal engine link up with classic video games. Mario, Sonic, Pokémon and even Link himself have been given the Unreal 4 treatment in the recent past. In the previous Zelda video, however, fans were actually able to see the hero of legend in action.

But few high-definition Zelda videos compare to the footage Nintendo released themselves. At E3 2012, the gaming company recruited their sword-wielding mascot to showcase the Wii U's HD capabilities. Link is seen facing off against a giant spider many times his size.

Detailed versions of classic Zelda environments show fans are ready for a high-resolution game in the series that isn't just Wind Waker re-released. Perhaps Zelda on the upcoming new Nintendo NX console will finally fulfill fans' wishes.
