Foxtel?s response to the growing digital media variety is the recent announcement of Foxtel Download. According to the website, the new service is free for current Foxtel subscribers. Depending on what package you have, you?ll be allowed access to 100s of movies and TV shows, all downloadable and viewable from the convenience of your PC.
It?s a legal and complementary service for current subscribers, but it?s not without some downsides. Foxtel Download is currently available for PC users only, so Mac users will be left behind unless they have a Windows operating system installed. You?ll have to pay extra for pay-per-view programmes still and, depending on how healthy your broadband download cap is, what you?re able to download in a month will be determined by the limitations of your Foxtel subscription and internet package.
